I am a mom of 3, who recently relocated to Chicago from Dubai. I spent the last decade of my life working as a Family and Birth Photographer. I love everything vintage and sentimental, I can never turn down cinnamon tea, or Belgian chocolates, and my childhood dream has always been to travel around the world!
If you’re anything like me, you LIVE for the moments that make your hair stand on end. I love people who also feel this way; people who actively seek out places, people and experiences in their world that make them feel alive.
The Birth of my own child in 2015 ignited in me a deep interest in the world of birth and birth photography
It happened almost immediately. I have always loved photography, however, I got into birth photography, specifically, because when it was time to have my baby, I couldn't find anyone who covered that sort of life event. I knew in my heart that I would be missing out on documenting a true gem of a life-changing moment, and it made me terribly sad. While my mom did bring along her camera, and while she was able to take all of ten pictures before finally succumbing to her supportive role throughout my labor, ultimately, I never got any professional photos. Until this day, these ten pictures happen to be some of my most treasured photos. They will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I often look at them very fondly because they truly represent the day my life had forever changed.
It sounds cliche but it's really true; I didn't want anyone who felt the way I felt about wanting to document the birth of my babies to feel the way I had felt, and so, I ventured into the birth world; Lana Photographs was born, and I have never looked back.
