The biggest form of flattery is when your friends reach out to hire you for your skill or talent. It takes an enormous amount of trust and belief, and is a responsibility not to be taken lightly. I personally think photographing friends is more difficult, but is an awesome thing to do that I welcome with open arms :)

You would remember Fatima and her lovely clan from this amazing, elegant Dubai maternity desert shoot. Well, Fatima reached back out to me to cover her daughter’s first few days at home and below are snippets of their casual, laid back shoot at home.

These photos are going to be forever cherished by little Aya and Amir.. why? Because it will forever show them what their first home looked like. It will show Amir what he was like when his sister first came into his world, and it will show Aya just how happy and excited everyone was to have her around.

Sanam and I had been talking back and forth on Instagram for many, many months prior to the birth of her precious second son. She found me when the lovely ladies at Baby and Child Magazine published an article on my work in birth photography and was interested in hiring a Dubai Birth Photographer. It’s always so lovely connecting with people online, specially when you finally get to meet them, and realize that they are your tribe and some of your biggest supporters!

Unfortunately because of scheduling complications, we couldn’t schedule a birth shoot, however, we were able to shoot the moments immediately after Sanam gave birth to her son, and this also coincided with her eldest meeting his new brother for the very first time. The session was quite emotional for everyone (even me! Pregnant at the time with loads of hormones running through my veins, so you can imagine!)
